TWO Mature Follicles

My ultrasound went amazing Thursday morning.  It was CD13, a day later than my normal U/S but it's not like I'm ever ready that early anyways.  My lining was 8mm, left ovary I had a 22mm follicle and right ovary with a 23mm follicle.  TWO mature follicles, and super early for me.  I triggered Thursday night at 10pm and my IUI is scheduled for 9:30am this morning.

I got a little annoyed with the RE when I first got there.  As soon as I checked in they asked if I had a full bladder for today.  FYI a full bladder is required for a external ultrasound, usually for pregnancy early on.  A empty bladder is required for an internal ultrasound, infertility.  It's a follicle scan so I answered no, why would I?  They let me know I need one today.  I asked why and the receptionist wasn't sure.  Why didn't they tell me in advance?  I drive over an hour there and could have downed water the whole way.  I had no where near a full bladder.  So they sent me down the medical mall to vending machines.  I only brought my phone, ID and car keys with me, not wallet.  A follicle scan is in and out. So I had to walk all the way back out to my car to get change and then back to the vending machines.  I get back to the waiting room and sit down trying to down this whole bottle of water quick because I can't have my appointment 'til I do.  They apologize, I need an empty bladder.  What?  I was mixed up with another patient.

The pharmacy wait time was ridiculous.  I needed my trigger that night so I couldn't come back another time.  I got there and picked a number: 256.  They were currently on 126.  WTF?  I drove to Panera Bread a couple towns over, got lunch to go.  Drove back and ate it while waiting, just in case they got to me.  About a half hour after I finished eating I was actually called.  I waited over an hour and a half.

Blood Work 6/26

Blood work showed no ovulation.  That's OK.  It's early (CD13) so I didn't think I did anyways.

Friday I have another ultrasound appointment.  Let's hope there is a close to mature follicle.  I'd really like my IUI not to get canceled.

Day Two

I am sooo bloated and huge!  It's hard too, not squishy like fat.  And I can't suck it in.

I haven't been tired much lately.  I went to bed late last night and then woke up early.  I took some Ibuprofen but couldn't get comfortable.  I started out on my back but I kept feeling pain by the lungs and right shoulder.  As soon as I would sit up it would go away.  So I layed on my left side and that felt much better.  As some point during the night I did roll over onto my back but then I woke up in the morning with a backache.  I tried to fall asleep for a couple more hours and eventually did sitting up.  I'm assuming this feeling is the gas floating around and I'm told I'd feel it in the right shoulder.  I thought gravity would take action and it would rise when I'm standing, but the opposite seems to be happening when I'm laying down.  Anyways it is painful so I avoid laying flat.  And this warming massage chair is amazing for my back and shoulder.

FYI With many types of  Laparoscopic Surgeries they fill your abdomen with CO2 gas to expand it.  This helps the camera and other tools get inside.  Your body naturally get rid of the extra gas left inside it.

The incisions really don't hurt too bad.  I've had my navel pierced twice and it often leaves your stomach sore for awhile.  It also makes it hard to bend over and get on the floor.  This is similar pain to that.  It's sore and I'm slow to get up and down, but I'm not wincing in pain.  It sometimes almost burns like having a razor burn.

I was able to take a shower and drive myself today.  Even went to a party for a few hours, but didn't do more than stand or sit around.  Tomorrow my bandaids come off.

My Future Children

This is probably one of many future posts just like it.  After watching other parents and my own I have created a list of how I want my own child raised.  Some are good things that I see, some are bad.  So here's the list from the infertile with no kids.

1.  Education.  I want to teach as child as young as possible.  I actually can not wait for this.  I'm not going to wait 'til pre-school or grade school for someone else to start teaching them.  I also graduated from the public school system and have no problem enrolling my child in it.  But if I feel s/he isn't getting an adequate education then I will pull them from it for private or home schooling.  Education is everything and you will go nowhere without it.

2.  Preservatives.  If the food doesn't go bad soon after you buy it then it's probably not good for you.  I very rarely step foot in a chain grocery store.  My fruits, vegetables, meat and bread come from a small market that has lower prices and the foods taste better.  Unfortunately since I try to limit foods with preservatives I am often there several times a week.  I buy organic when it's available and at a low enough price.  And frozen dinner don't happen around here.  My child will not be eating cheese puffs and McDonald's regularly.  That stuff is garbage.  I also hope my child isn't a picky eater like myself (although it will probably happen.)

3.  Limited TV.  Television shouldn't be babysitting your kids.  We don't watch much TV around here and only have one TV in our house.  It's small and in the corner of our living room.  We do have cable but it is a very basic package and I honestly haven't watched it in months (I should just cancel it.)  Most stuff on TV is junk and I feel like I've lost brain cells watching it.

4.  Bedtime.  I often walk into a store like Wal-Mart at 11PM and find people actually bring their kids out at that time.  Why is there no bedtime?  I can see maybe once in a great while when they are sick, you have no one to watch them and cold meds are needed.  But even then I don't see myself doing so in a tube top.

5.  Open Sexuality.  I want to be close to my child about everything.  I don't care if they have sex.  But my son will be given condoms and my daughter will be put on birth control.  My child will not be another 16 and Pregnant.

6.  Hold My Child.  I honestly can not wait to hold my baby for the first time.  I never want to let them go.  I was never touched much growing up.  Very few hugs, kisses and "I love you" are rarely said.  I want to change that.

7.  Abuse.  I also grew up with physical and verbal abuse in my home.  My child will not see that.  And I will be proud of them no matter what.

8.  Creative.  I hope they are creative like me.  I love to sew, paint and take photos.  I want to teach all those things to my child.

9.  College Fund.  It will be started ASAP after I'm pregnant.

10.  Disneyland.  For their 5th birthday.  I always loved that idea.  I didn't go my first time 'til I was in my teens so I'd "remember" it.  But there is something about going when you're young and everything is still magical.
