Tuesday was the first day I brought Lily out in public on my own. I'm still recovering from my C-Section and daddy P doesn't like the baby going out too much with a young immune system. I can't really carry her in the carseat yet, too heavy after surgery. I just pushed her around in the stroller.
We went to the pottery studio and got prints of her tiny newborn feet done on tile. I added her name and birth stats to the tiles. These will be shipped out to the grandparents next week. I thought this would be a good gift since all our family is on the other side of the country and won't actually see Lily for a long while.

After that I went to my post-op appointment. My pain medication doesn't seem to always work, my right side is still in a lot of pain. Current meds:
- Vicodin 5-325mg - 1 every 6 hours
- Tylenol 325mg - 2 every 2 hours
- Ibuprofen 200mg - 2 every 4 hours
P seems to think those drugs are pretty weak for someone recovering from such a surgery. I don't know what the standard prescribed pain drugs after a C-Section may be. I asked the OB, Dr. G, for something stronger or a different drug all together but got turned down. I only have another day of the Vicodin anyways, the rest are over-the-counter drugs. At that point I got frustrated because the OB wasn't listening and Lily began screaming. I did get a prescription for a breast pump though (current one is a pain to use). Dr. G did pull off a bunch of tape that covered my incision, and then he told me I could reach down there and pull more off myself over time. Yeah I'm not that comfortable yet. My next appointment is in early August.
Lily slept through the pottery place and the OB, minus the screaming that stopped as soon as I found her pacifier. Then she went back to sleep 'til we got home. Pretty easy four hour trip away from home with her.
